K-pop giants BTS may be on hiatus, but its respective members continue to make their mark on the charts as solo artists. Today, Jimin claims the band’s biggest individual Official Singles Chart success to date, as Like Crazy becomes the first-ever solo BTS Top 10 track.
Lifted from his debut album FACE, Like Crazy is a brand-new entry at Number 8 today; breaking his own record after his track Set Me Free Pt. 2 reached Number 30 last week.
Prior to this, Jimin’s bandmate j-hope made UK chart history as he secured BTS’s first solo Top 40 entry, with his J. Cole collaboration on the street peaking at Number 37.
BTS – made up of j-hope, Jin, Suga, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook – have achieved four UK Top 10 singles to date as a group; Dynamite (Number 3), Life Goes On (Number 10), Butter (Number 3) and Coldplay team-up My Universe (Number 3).
The K-pop juggernaut also boast two UK Number 1 albums as a group; 2019’s Map of the Soul – Persona and 2020 LP Map of the Soul – 7. Relive the story of BTS’s second chart-topping album here.
Last week, Jimin became the fifth member of BTS to score a UK Top 100 hit as a soloist; its members now boasting six Top 100 tracks as individuals. Jimin’s Like Crazy (XX) and Stay Alive Pt. 2 (30), Jungkook’s Stay Alive (89), Jin’s The Astronaut (61), RM’s Indigo (45) and j-hope’s on the street (37) have all impacted the Official Chart.
As a band, BTS are currently on hiatus and are expected to reunite in 2025. This is due to its members’ commitments to mandatory military enlistment back in their homeland of South Korea, with Jin is currently undertaking active service.
